Cost Open Call
The aim:
COST – European Cooperation in Science and Technology – is one of the longest- running European instruments supporting cooperation among scientists and researchers across Europe.
COST key features are:
- building capacity by connecting high-quality scientific communities throughout Europe and worldwide;
- providing networking opportunities for early career investigators;
- increasing the impact of research on policy makers, regulatory bodies and national decision makers as well as the private sector.
Research areas:
- Biomedicine and Molecular Biosciences (BMBS),
- Chemistry and Molecular Sciences and Technologies (CMST),
- Earth System Science and Environmental Management (ESSEM),
- Food and Agriculture (FA),
- Forests, their Products and Services (FPS),
- Information and Communication Technologies (ICT),
- Individuals, Societies, Cultures and Health (ISCH),
- Materials, Physics and Nanosciences (MPNS),
- Transport and Urban Development (TUD).
Who can apply:
Researchers affiliated to the following institutions can participate in COST Actions:
Institutions from COST Member Countries, Near Neighbour Countries and International Partner Countries, including:
-Government Organisations, except Intergovernmental Organisations;
-Universities and Associated Organisations;
-Business Enterprises (ranging from SMEs to multinationals);
-Private Non-Profit Organisations/NGOs (even if international);
-Standards Organisations (even if international).
Budget: The additional funding raises the total budget for COST to 250 million EUR for FP7.
The financial support averages EUR 130 000 per year for a four-year period.
